About Ronin Consulting

Jim Galvin is a distinguished former detective with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), where he dedicated 22 years of service, including 13 years in the Detective Bureau. Rising to the rank of Detective Third Grade, Jim led multiple investigative units, demonstrating exceptional leadership and investigative acumen.

Today, as the Director of Ronin Consulting and Investigations, Jim brings his vast expertise to the forefront, overseeing complex litigation, corporate security, and executive protection cases. His extensive experience spans internal and external investigations, dignitary and executive protection, threat analysis, corporate internal investigations, fraud inquiries, crisis management, and advanced surveillance techniques.

Jim’s proficiency extends to evidence retrieval, investigative technologies, and he is certified in COVID-19 contact tracing by Johns Hopkins University. He holds a degree from City University of New York-Kingsborough College and a BA in Police Science from John Jay College, specializing in Supervision and Management.
