Need a notary public near you? Jim Galvin is a New York State Notary Public who travels to clients. Instead of finding a notary during business hours, the notary comes to your home, office, law firm or other location in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island or Long Island.
Fee
$2 per notarial act (oath, affirmation or acknowledgment), the New York statutory fee. Travel is a separate charge, agreed in advance, and is not part of the notarial fee. New York law sets the notary fee at $2 for administering an oath or affirmation or taking an acknowledgment (Executive Law §136; see the NY Department of State notary FAQ).
What a notary can do
- Take acknowledgments of signatures on documents such as deeds, powers of attorney and agreements
- Administer oaths and affirmations
- Take affidavits
For attorneys
Law firms and attorneys can have affidavits sworn and documents acknowledged wherever the signer is. Because Jim is also a licensed private investigator, notary work can be paired with an investigation: for example, locating a witness and then having a statement sworn as an affidavit. See attorney & litigation support and locating people & witnesses.
What to bring
The unsigned document and a current government-issued photo ID for each signer.
